privacy policy

effective 11 July 2026

1. who we are

marrymint.co is operated by MarryMint (ABN 77 218 561 547), Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.

2. information we collect

Account information: name and email address when you sign up.

Wedding details: couple names, wedding date, venue, and any content you add to your wedding website or guest list.

Guest information: names, email addresses, and RSVP responses provided by you or your guests.

Payment information: we do not store your card details. Payments are handled securely by a PCI-compliant third-party payment processor.

Usage data: pages visited, features used, and error logs to help us improve the platform. With your consent, we use analytics and marketing-measurement tools (described in section 10) to understand how the platform is used.

3. how we use your information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the marrymint.co platform
  • To send transactional emails (account verification, payment receipts, RSVP notifications)
  • To process print orders through our fulfilment provider
  • To respond to support requests
  • To send occasional product updates (you can opt out at any time)

We do not sell your personal information. With your consent, we use analytics and advertising cookies and pixels to understand how the platform is used and to measure our marketing (see section 10). We do not set these cookies or collect tracking data about you until you opt in, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.

4. who we share data with

We share limited data with trusted third-party service providers to operate the platform. These providers assist with functions including payment processing, authentication, email delivery, print fulfilment, cloud hosting, analytics, and domain registration.

Some of our service providers are located overseas. Your personal information may be disclosed to recipients in Australia, the United States, and the European Union. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your data in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. We do not store your card details — payments are handled by a PCI-compliant payment processor.

5. guest data

When you add guests to your wedding on marrymint.co, you are responsible for having appropriate permission to share their contact details with us. By providing guest information, you represent and warrant that:

  • you have obtained the consent of each individual whose personal information you provide, or you are otherwise authorised to provide it
  • you have informed those individuals that their personal information will be processed by us in accordance with this Privacy Policy
  • you will not upload sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)) about any third party without their express consent

Guest information is private to your account. Other users of the platform cannot access your guest lists. We use guest data solely to facilitate RSVPs and communications on your behalf. We do not contact your guests for marketing or any purpose unrelated to your wedding.

6. data storage and security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure in Australia. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised team members only. We maintain regular backups.

7. how long we keep your data

We retain your account and wedding data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except:

  • payment records, which we retain for 7 years for tax compliance
  • data we are required to retain by law
  • anonymised, aggregated data that cannot identify you

8. data breach notification

In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988. For users in the EEA or UK, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours where required by the GDPR.

9. your rights

Under Australian Privacy Law (Privacy Act 1988) and where applicable, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Opt out of marketing emails
  • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@marrymint.co.

10. cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to understand how marrymint.co is used so we can improve it and give you a better experience. Essential cookies are always on — they are required for the service to function, for example to keep you signed in and to remember your cookie choice.

With your consent, we also use analytics and advertising technologies to see how people find and use the platform and to measure our marketing. These include website and product analytics, advertising-measurement pixels, and tools that record anonymised session replays and heatmaps of how pages are used; some of this analytics may be linked to your account while you are signed in. These technologies are off by default — we do not load them, set analytics or advertising cookies, or collect any tracking data about you until you opt in. You can decline, or withdraw your consent at any time, through our cookie banner or your browser settings.

11. children

marrymint.co is not intended for use by people under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. additional information for users in the EEA and UK

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK), the following additional terms apply under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Legal basis for processing: We process your personal data on the basis of: consent (where you have given clear consent for a specific purpose); contract (where processing is necessary to provide the service); or legitimate interests (such as improving the platform or preventing fraud), provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.

Your rights under the GDPR: In addition to the rights listed in section 9, you have the right to: restrict or object to processing in certain situations; withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent; port your data to another provider in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format; and lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority or the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

International transfers: Your personal data may be transferred to, and processed in, Australia. Where we transfer data outside the EEA or UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@marrymint.co. We will respond within 30 days.

13. changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you by email or in-app notice before any material changes take effect.
